Trauma

Area of Practice

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” ― C.S. Lewis.

Trauma looks different for different people. Sometimes it is easy to identify as in the case of sexual abuse, but other times it doesn’t necessarily look like trauma as in the case of long-term emotional abuse or neglect like in the case of childhood emotional or physical abuse. Often, the damage to a victim’s soul is profound, lingering long after the traumatic event has passed leaving feelings of depression, guilt, shame, anger, inadequacy and low self-worth.

Sometimes the effects can seem overwhelming, but healing is possible. We are trauma-informed therapists who are aware of the impact of trauma on suffering and how it shapes our ability to cope with everyday life.

We stand in the gap for our clients when they cannot believe they can heal – we believe for them until they can get there.

We provide a safe and therapeutic environment and help clients find coping strategies, recognize their resiliency, and work through healing strategies together.
